  • Following the US Government Administration changes in January 2025, Amtrak underwent significant reconfigurations to comply with Executive Orders, including new priorities for my group

  • Launched study to quantify business costs of cancelled or amended train service due to extreme weather events

  • Penned new high performance design standard policy reflecting industry best practices like LEED and Envision

  • Led the creation and the Board-approved adoption of Amtrak’s first Climate Commitment

  • Designed and oversaw ongoing climate risk and adaptation studies beginning on Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor and expanding to the National Network (144K miles of service)

  • Developed bespoke Climate Resilient Design Guidelines to enhance building codes for Amtrak’s Real Estate portfolio

  • Liaised between Amtrak and consultants on multiple Envision certification projects

  • Worked closely with other Directors to integrate annual, short-term, and 5+ year sustainability indicators into Amtrak’s strategic vision and corporate goals

  • Responsible for all public facing sustainability and climate inquiries via FOIA or otherwise

  • In light of public backlash, renegotiated the execution of a $500M station project where on-site emissions would increase, successfully advocating for emissions-free designs; won a Clean Air Award from the Clean Air Council for cancelling natural gas boilers and staying on the district steam loop

  • Executed Amtrak’s first solar power purchase agreement and on-site renewable energy generation partnership in Washington, D.C., resulting in a new revenue stream and reduced rates for 20 years

  • Developed Amtrak’s sustainability and resilience capacity from a singular staff member to a team of professionals that rolled out Amtrak’s Net Zero and Resilience portfolio within 15 months of creation

Senior Manager, Sustainability

  • Designed and facilitated climate change workshops and regular committee meetings with cross-departmental participation to expand awareness and integrate sustainable practices across Amtrak workstreams

  • Co-authored and published Amtrak’s Annual Sustainability Reports, gathering and aggregating data across multiple departments, writing content, and working with graphic design firms to format and publish on a tight deadline
