Launched study to quantify business costs of cancelled or amended train service due to extreme weather events

Designed and oversaw ongoing climate risk and adaptation studies beginning on Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor and expanding to the National Network (144K miles of service)
Developed bespoke Climate Resilient Design Guidelines to enhance building codes for Amtrak’s Real Estate portfolio
Liaised between Amtrak and consultants on multiple Envision certification projects

In light of public backlash, renegotiated the execution of a $500M station project where on-site emissions would increase, successfully advocating for emissions-free designs; won a Clean Air Award from the Clean Air Council for cancelling natural gas boilers and staying on the district steam loop
Executed Amtrak’s first solar power purchase agreement and on-site renewable energy generation partnership in Washington, D.C., resulting in a new revenue stream and reduced rates for 20 years
Developed Amtrak’s sustainability and resilience capacity from a singular staff member to a team of professionals that rolled out Amtrak’s Net Zero and Resilience portfolio within 15 months of creation
